On the first day, we walked to school, the streets where huge and the traffic was crowed and loud. We walked across these streets. I became quite nervous, I´ve never taught English before.

The school was very welcoming. Even at my first day all volunteers where invited to an English festival organized by all classes of the school. It was amazing. The different classes where showing singing, dancing and acting performances which where almost better than the one from professionals. All the volunteers where highly impressed.

In the following weeks the teachers of the school and the other volunteers showed me how to teach. Although I was very scared of it at the beginning I started to like it more and more. The students and the teachers where open minded and nevertheless that they had stressful times, especially the time before the exams of the end of the school year, we had many interesting lessons together. For example with workshops about recycling or tourism all around the world, debates about many different topics and with lots of games.

Twice a week the school arranged also an English lesson for voluntary teachers to improve their English with me. Which was very nice because after a while we had many interesting conversations and I got to know many teachers.

When the end of the school year was coming everybody was happy and sad at the same time. The school organized a great ceremony everyone got dressed up : ao dais and suits where everywhere in the school. Surrounded by happy people and some tears, I had to say goodbye to the school. I am very thankful that I had the honor to teach at such a nice school and that I got so many great new experiences like in that time. I will definetly keep them in my mind.
