Lena is a German volunteer. She just finished her project last week after 5 months. Here's how she feels about her time in Vietnam:

"After five months in this wonderful country I unfortunately have to say goodbye already. It’s a goodbye from so much more than I could have ever imagined before coming here. Learning about Vietnamese culture and discovering the different landscapes left me amazed. It gave me the chance to learn a lot about myself at the same time.

The past months have been filled with adventures, inspirations, rethinking, challenges and a lot of happiness. Being away from home for longer was hard at times, but also very rewarding. I got to make many wonderful memories and, most importantly, I got to share them with all the amazing people I met. I’m really grateful for the friendships I got to make, thank you to everyone who made my stay in Hanoi so special, you are an inspiration to me!❤

Teaching at Pascal Secondary School was a very valuable experience for me as well. I was really impressed by the commitment some of our students showed. I’m really happy I got to help them learn English, as it enables them to communicate with people from all around the world. In addition to that, the teachers took care of us in such a lovely way, it was really great to see how much our efforts were valued! I hope that by volunteering I got to give back at least a little bit of what I received!"
